COVID-19 In Pediatric Populations (IVAC)

Every Other Tuesday 5:30 – 6:30PM

COVID-19 for Pediatric Populations is a series of bi-weekly videoconference sessions focused on providing primary care providers with up-to-date information about COVID-19 and best practices for pediatric populations. Each 60-minute session includes a brief didactic lecture infectious disease specialist at the University of Chicago Medicine. The didactic is followed by Q&A with the expert panel.

Funding for this project was made possible by the Office of Disease Control, through the Illinois Department of Public Health.

  • Overview of the operational aspects of COVID vaccination in an office setting
  • Vaccine hesitancy: why and recommendations for management
  • How to setup a culture of vaccination in the office
  • Discussing side effects of the vaccines and anticipatory guidance
  • Common dosing errors, management and prevention
  • COVID disease and management in the outpatient
  • Variants: what they mean to the vaccination process
