COVID-19 for Educators & School Administrators

Every Other Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:45PM

In partnership with Illinois Education Association (IEA) & Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA), this series of four weekly videoconference sessions focused on providing educators across Illinois with up-to-date information about COVID-19 and best practices to consider in the re-opening of schools. Each 75-minute session includes a brief didactic lecture (different topic each week) by Dr. Daniel Johnson, Director of ECHO-Chicago and Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at the University of Chicago Medicine. The didactic will be followed by Q&A with the expert panel.

Topics include-

  • Overview of COVID-19, including symptoms for children and adults, and why advice sometimes changes or is updated
  • A look at the world’s data on COVID-19 and schools
  • Advice and recommendations based on data and science
  • Risk assessment, the public health trade off from the re-opening of schools
